A temple for modern gods!

At our show at the new Schlachthof in Wiesbaden the day before yesterday we found out that we were not only the first ever band to play all four venues there but also that we had been built into the new temple of rock'n roll worship. Oh yes true dat!

Lemme explain!

The first time we played one of the Schlachthof venues was in the spring of 1998 on the Suedepallooza tour with No fun at all, Refused and Liberator. We returned in the fall the same year to play the smaller room and also spent the night on the floor at the very same venue. We have been coming back with a scary regularity to satisfy the German need for The Hives and in doing so we have become quite an institution in the hot spring loaded town of Wiesbaden.

A testament to our acquired godlike status in Wiesbaden is the fact I referred to in the beginning of this here little diary post so lets have the story unfold some more.

When laying the first stone to the foundation of the new Wiesbaden Schlachthof venue, the music loving (and therefore Hives loving people) placed within that stone yours truly The Hives from a The Hives at Schlachthof rock'n roll show used underwear together with Lemmy from Motörheads whiskey bottle. Only satan knows how they all get along deep down in the concrete but the fact remains - a rock'n roll temple has been built on top of a whiskeybottle blessed by Lemmys sweet singing lips and The Hives sweaty groin produce. Not only is this truly an ultimate celebration of some of our times most prominent music greats but also the best foundation on which to build a new temple for the worship of the gods music.

The Hives are truly honored to be part of this 8th world wonder and wish the people of Wiesbaden happy trails in their everlasting quest for the divine rock'n roll experience. And yes we do promise to come back to Schlachthof with our own divine version of our specially made hot smoking buns contribution to the great smorgasbord of Wiesbadens music scene.
